Vrch Tri krize (Three Crosses Hill) - Three large crosses resembling those at biblical Golgotha were erected here around the year 1640 when the Catholics were victorious in recapturing Karlovy Vary and the surrounding area from the Lutherans who dominated here for the previous 100 years. The hill is the subject of numerous horrific legends about goblins and the murder of three brothers. Formerly, there was a restaurant at Three Crosses and a unique pavilion "Camera obscura". Here in the dark pavilion, landscape scenes were projected on the wall. In the 19th century, this hill was one of the most visited sites in the area. Pavilion Camera obscura was rebuilt by the end of 1997. If you are interested in astronomy, we recommend you visit the karlovarska hvezdarna (Karlovy Vary observatory) in the part of the town called "Hurky".
